About the author:

Josh Williams is a full time student and fencer.  He is currently attending Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana for computer science with minors in linguistics and Spanish.  In the past, he attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN and Lafayette Jefferson High School.  Blogging since 2007, Williams writes and codes on a mid-2008 MacBook Pro.  He is an avid user of Google products including Gmail, and primarily utilizes Apple OS X Leopard.  In the browser wars, he’s sided with Firefox.

Williams is a D2009 foilist, a D2008 épéeist, and an E2009 sabreuist with referee ratings of 6 in all three weapons entering into his 6th year of fencing.  In the past he has fenced for and coached at River City Fencing and the Lafayette Area Fencing Alliance.  He is currently a member of the Men’s Foil Squad of the Purdue Fencing Club and trains with his coach, Mark Smith.  Williams referees actively in the Indiana area and Great Lakes Section.

In addition to fencing, Josh is also a juggler.  He juggles bags, balls, clubs, and devil stick, and participates in contact juggling and glow poi spinning (with intention to learn fire poi) as well.  He also makes a habit of spinning his Gerber RipStop I.

Williams is a writer, reader, film director & editor, and coder in his spare time/at school.  He started a short lived tech blog in 2008 called Neutron Dawn and produced a number of short films while working with Jefferson High School’s radio-television crew.  He served as a morning show host and assistant program director for the radio station Jeff 92 between 2007 -2008.

He likes to listen to Oldies music, alternative rock, and techno, as well as the occasional love ballad in his spare time.  Among his favorite films are the Dark Knight and Serenity.  His favorite books include How to Win Friends and Influence People, and the New Psycho-Cybernetics.
