Could Go Either Way
I got up at o’dark thirty this morning under the impression that I would be working today. Apparently that was a poor idea to be having. I had to take Caleb to work (he’s a detasselling assistant crewleader) and then went over to the carpet place where I’m playing the part of temp help for two weeks, only to find that my name was not on the magical board of people working today. Neither was my coworker/friend Corey. Hmm.
It appears that if the office does not call you by noon on Saturday, you don’t need to be up crap-early to be there on Monday. Okay, good to know now. Not that I’m complaining terribly much. Work at that place is only good because of the money, I think. I have no passion for carpet cleaning, sorry to say. I do do my work well and did show up at 7, though, so don’t worry, your carpet will be cleaned well. Just not with…passion.
So I could go either way about not working today. On one hand, money is nice to have. On the other hand, I have plenty of interesting, fun productive, innovative, creative, and thoughtful things to be doing right now.
Anyway, I’m home for the day, although we (meaning my co-not-workers and I) may go golfing later on, which will be an experience, as I never have before. When I told my Dad that, he said that every one should go once…just don’t expect to master it. So it could be interesting.
Other than that, I think I have time, I’m not tired, I’m not working, and I just may go read some more of Thomas More’s Utopia. In blogs everywhere late July 2008.
