Whedonize me, Captain.

Joss Whedon, director of Firefly and Serenity, has struck again, this time with a side project of his own.  I actually found this link on TUAW, as it had a post on the fact that you needed to have an iPhone to rule the world.  I’ll let you find that out on your own, though.

He’s directed/produced/written/etc. a Supervillain Musical, starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathon Fillion, who for all Firefly and BDM fans is forever typecast as Mal.

Seeing Mal-Fillion-sing is absolutely hilarious, but the plot overall is actually fairly endearing-it’s told from the supervillain side of things, and turns ideas about who’s right and who’s wrong upside down.  It examines motives for being evil, and the possible motives for being “good”-Neither of which are quite what they seem.

The entire thing is shot very cleanly, and there’s not a lot of background movement.  Major plot points are covered between “Dr. Horrible” ’s vlog posts.

It’s entertaining, funny, and a musical directed by Joss Whedon.

FYI: It goes offline midnight Saturday, do hurry up and get your

Whedon/Fillion Fix soonish!

You’ll still be able to purchase it on iTunes and on DVD eventually,

according to the site.

That money will go to actually fund the cast and crew of the program.

Act III will be up Saturday as well.
